Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C)
Medicare Advantage Plans, or Part C, are health plans under Medicare that provide all your Part A and B benefits, often including prescription drug coverage. Types include HMOs, PPOs, Private Fee-for-Service, Medical Savings Accounts, and Special Needs Plans. You use the plan’s card for care, often getting extra benefits and lower co-pays than Original Medicare. You must have Part A and B to join, pay the 2025 Part B premium ($185, or higher based on income), and possibly a plan premium. Enrollment is during your initial 7-month eligibility period (three months before to three months after turning 65) or October 15–December 7 annually.
